Some of you may be wondering about the difference between a CQ (Certificate of Qualification) and a CEAS (Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing). Here's a little more information about the two.
CQ is:
CQ is:
- Awarded to non-US citizens who have completed all of the requirements necessary to be a certified teacher.
- Are not required to complete on-line HIB training.
- Can not take the Praxis because you need a Social Security number in order to register for the Praxis.
- Receive a Certificate of Completion from The College of New Jersey
- Receive an official Certificate of Qualification signed by the State of New Jersey.
- Does not qualify you to teach in the US.
CEAS is:
- Awarded to US citizens who have completed all of the requirements necessary to be a certified teacher.
- Are required to complete HIB training.
- Must take Praxis exams.
- Must complete EdTPA
- Receive a Certificate of Completion from The College of New Jersey.
- Receive and official Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing from the State of New Jersey.
- Qualifies you to teach in the US.
