We have just a few days left before we are celebrating graduation, sharing a meal, and saying farewell. First, we must tackle these next 4 1/2 days. I know many of you are feeling the fatigue and this is the time to find your strength and know that you can do it. Session 3 Class Photos
Dr. Mawhinney is thoughtfully considering how much her Content Literacy class can handle this session.
No one seems to want to get too close to Content Literacy professor Jim Lattanzi.
The quality of the jazz hands seems to have diminished considerably since session 1 as Dr. Monroe's General Seminar demonstrates.
This is the "crazy" version of the Supervision class pictures. These future administrators aren't playing around.
Laurent is down! Laurent is down! We have a casualty in Dr. Petroff's Special Education class.

Damn you SOCS!
A few quick notes regarding SOCS --
1. SOCS goes down every day for about a half hour between 1:30p and 2:00p, and then again between 5:00a and 6:00a. Please plan for this so you aren't caught off guard when you need to access a resource or submit something to Dropbox.
2. TCNJ will be phasing out SOCS over the next academic year. Please download resources from your SOCS sites on to your hard drive so that you will have them for future reference.

Massages Return for Session 3
We know how hard you are working and we want to keep you motivated, energized, and healthy.
On Tuesday, July 2nd there will be an opportunity to get a free 15 minute massage. Appointments will be between 11:00a and 1:00p. Please sign up in the office. Tips for the masseuses will be appreciated.
Welcome to Session 3: All aboard Tabitha's Magic Fun Bus!
In the past 20 days some of you have already completed 2 Graduate level courses. This is a wonderful accomplishment for which you should feel proud. I have watched you do this with poise, commitment, and care. More importantly, you have taken advantage of the power of learning collaboratively and developed "academic siblings". These "academic siblings" are the people you have studied with, vented to, and supported throughout your coursework and the bonds that develop are worth nurturing.
As you begin this last session I hope you will maintain the same level of enthusiasm and discipline. Please let me know if I can do anything to support you as you are nearing the finish of your Summer, 2013 classes.

Session 2 -- Class Pictures
Dr. Amtzis' class can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Joanna's class can't imagine why student's don't like school when they are having so much fun.
Judging by the pictures of Dr. Mawhinney and Dr. Monroe's classes, insanity is an Advanced Trend.
Dr. Russo's testosterone loaded class -- poor Jillian -- let us know if you need to talk.
Dr. Dell'Angelo's class wins the "Most Symmetrical" class picture prize!

Thank you to our super tech guru Eric Jacklich for finding this great resource http://goo.gl/404ge
Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Professional Development
Sometimes the HIB professional development will be embedded into your Child & Adolescent Development (EPSY 523) course. This means that if you have the HIB training as part of the course you will NOT have to do the on-line training. However, if your EPSY 523 class did not cover this topic you will need to complete the on-line training. The information for this is below. Here are the steps you need to take:
1. Do the on-line training
2. Save a copy of your completion certificates
3. Send the completion certificates to Tabitha (dellange@tcnj.edu) with the subject line "HIB Cert"
NJ Legal One on-line HIB Training
You are required to complete two (2) online courses:
Bullying 101 for Educators
and
LEGAL ONE New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights
GETTING STARTED
1) Access the LEGAL ONE web site;
The site is available at http://www.legalonenj.org/
2) Establish your LEGAL ONE account;
Creating Account
To establish your LEGAL ONE account, go directly here: http://www.legalonenj.org/register/create-account. Or on the main menu click “My Account”, either of which will bring you to the “Create – My account” page. Click on the “create an account now” text link.
You will soon receive an email that provides further instructions. Please use this established account information when you logon to LEGAL ONE the first time. Then, change (and safely maintain!) your Password, as desired. Should you ever forget, simply click on the “forgot?” link located to the right of the “Log in” button at the top right of page.
• Your Registration Code: COLLEGENJ2012
3) Purchase the courses; Taking a course;
Purchasing a LEGAL ONE Course:
• Once you have all of your account information, you are ready to purchase your LEGAL ONE course(s) – Bullying 101 (for Educators) and Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights. To purchase these course(s), log on to the site (if you are not already) and click on the “View Course Catalog” link at the lower right of the page. Then, scroll to the bottom of the first Catalog page and click on the Bullying 101 for Educators link (left column). You may purchase both courses on the same order or one at a time.
• Your Coupon Code: TCNJ2013
• Next, click the “Add to cart” button; then, click the “Checkout” button. This will take you to the “Checkout” page where you will select the desired Payment Method (i.e., Check, Credit Card, etc.).
• Next, complete the necessary payment information then enter the “Coupon Code” in the area designated for “Coupon Code” and click on the “Apply to Order” button.
• Use your Coupon Code: TCNJ2013
• Next, click the “Review order” button located in the bottom right corner of the “Checkout” page.
• Finally, carefully review the information presented in the “Review order” table and, once satisfied, click the “Submit order” button located at the lower right of the “Review order” table. Once successfully submitted, you will soon receive an email from LEGAL ONE to confirm your purchase.
Taking the Course
• Once your LEGAL ONE course order has been processed, the appropriate course title link will automatically appear under the “My Courses” header located in the upper left vertical menu, as well as in the table presented under the “My Courses” horizontal menu link at top of page.
Click the desired course title link. Then, click on the “Take Course” link (or tab) and follow the directions provided. Given that Bullying 101 for Educators is a Hazelden course, you will click on the “Launch” button located in the video frame to initiate the course.
• Once you have viewed the course in its entirety, you will take the LEGAL ONE-specific assessment. DO NOT take the assessment in the actual video, as it WILL NOT COUNT.
4) Provide Proof of Completion.
Finally, once you successfully complete the assessment (e.g., passing rate of 80% for Bullying 101), you can print your Certificate by simply clicking on the course Certificate link. This will generate a PDF version of the certificate that you can save and/or print.
The fee only covers the cost of the service. TCNJ receives no remuneration from the Foundation of Educational Administration. On your resume, it may be helpful for you to add “completed HIB training courses” and indicate the date you completed the training. You can also include your HIB certificates in your portfolio. During the semester of your graduation, include copies of the 2 HIB Certificates along with your certification materials. Please do not lose the HIB Certificates.
Please register and participate in your training on line as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to Dr. Bartoletti at 609-771-2327 or email at bartolet@tcnj.edu or Ms. Conjura at 771-2318 or rconjura@tcnj.edu.

Tabitha Dell’Angelo is the primary academic advisor for
the Bangkok TCNJ program. She can help you choose classes, make sure you are on
the right path to meet your goals with certification or a Master’s degree, she
can even just take materials back to New Jersey if needed.
Tabitha will be in room 305 for advising during sessions 1
and 3. In session 2 she is teaching Child & Adolescent Development. If you
are in her class, plan to meet with her for advising during session 2. Everyone
else should at least stop by to introduce yourself and ask questions sometime
during sessions 1 or 3.

Just be...
-- Kind. to yourself and to one
another. I know many of you just ended your school year just a few days ago.
With very little time to rest and recharge you are here and ready to study. Be
proud of your commitment to your students and to your own personal growth. Take
care of yourself – eat well, get sleep, check in on your friends and
classmates.
-- Disciplined. You will be doing a
semester of work in 7 days. With no time to procrastinate you will see how you
can expand your capacity to meet this challenge. Work hard now because the end
result is worth it.
-- Reflective. Take time to reflect
on the work you are doing and how it will improve your practice. Listen to your
classmates – we learn so much from sharing our experiences. At the end of this
journey reflect upon what you learned about one another, your students, and
yourself.
Also, just be…
·
mindful of the children on campus
·
paperless when possible
·
conscientious about keeping your classroom trash
free
