Changes: Admissions Requirements

New admission requirements apply to all students who matriculate AFTER August 25, 2015. 

- All candidates must pass a test of basic skills, or score in the top one-third percentile on the SAT, ACT, or GRE for the year the test was taken. 

- GPA – All candidates for certification graduating after Sept 1, 2016 must have a GPA of 3.0 to be recommended for a teaching license by the TCNJ Certification Office.

- Performance Assessment - All candidates for certification graduating after Sept 1, 2016 must pass a skill based performance assessment.

Core Praxis Test

INDIVIDUAL TESTS  ­- $85 each #5712: READING - Passing score 156 #5722:  WRITING - Passing score 162 #5732:  MATH - Passing score 150

OR THE COMBINED TEST  -  $135 # 5751 is the same set of tests but contains all three parts

Summer 2015 Welcome!

Business:

• If you are coming for your second summer and plan to complete your certification this year, please be sure to check in with me [Tabitha] to complete a pink form. This pink form is your application to the State of NJ for your official certification. If you are a US citizen [CEAS] the requirements for your certification include passing the Praxis exam, completing the HIB training, the health requirement, and paying a $190 fee. The fee must be a check made out to The College of New Jersey.
• If you are a non-US citizen [CQ] you only need to do the pink form. 
• This year every course has a pre-assignment due on June 10th. Even if you have a second or third session course, your pre-assignment is due June 10th. Keep checking your course site [Canvas] to see if your assignment has been posted. 
• If you are completing your program this year, you MUST apply to graduate. Go into your PAWS and click the button to apply. If you don't do this, TCNJ will not create a diploma for you and I will feel sad when I have to hand you an empty diploma cover.
